    Abstract
    Der vorliegende Artikel beschreibt die Bemühungen um den Aufbau eines historischen Fachinformationssystems im Rahmen eines avisierten FIZ Geisteswissenschaften in den Jahren 1974 bis 1980. Ausgehend von der Diskussion der 60er Jahre, die in die Formulierung einer staatlichen IuD-Politik mündete sowie von den Überlegungen innerhalb der Geschichtswissenschaften hinsichtlich der Notwendigkeit einer Fachdokumentation, wird im folgenden das Konzept eines historischen Informationssystems nachgezeichnet, das in den 70er Jahren entwickelt wurde. Mit der Einstellung der staatlichen Förderung im Jahre 1980 wurden der Aufbau des FIZ Geisteswissenschaften und die damit verbundenen Pläne für den aufbau eines historischen Fachinformationssystems beendet. Seit dieser Zeit spielen weder die Geschichtswissenschaft, noch die Geistewissenschaften insgesamt innerhalb der Fachinformationspolitik eine Rolle

    Abstract
    Mit der Ausweitung des Internet treten vielfältige Rechtsfragen hinsichtlich der Verantwortlichkeit von Online-Providern für den Datenverkehr in Computernetzen auf. Dies bezieht sich vor allem auf die Inhalte von Informationen, die auf Servern bereitgehalten und über die Computernetze zugänglich werden. Die Frage nach der Haftung in solchen Fällen gilt sowohl für den DFN-Verein als auch für seine Mitgliedseinrichtungen. Der DFN-Verein hat zu dieser Fragestellung ein Rechtsgutachten 'Zur Haftung des Vereins zur Förderung eines Deutschen Forschungsnetzes e.V. als Online-Diensteanbieter' in Auftrag gegeben. Dieses Gutachten bezieht auch die Mitgliedseinrichtungen des DFN-Vereins ein.     Abstract
    WWW-OPACs bieten Bibliotheksnutzern die Möglichkeit, von zu Hause oder vom Arbeitsplatz aus über Internet in den Beständen zu recherchieren, unter Umständen sogar Bestellungen aufzugeben oder Verlängerungen vorzunehmen. Scheidet ein Zugang übder das Internet aber aus technischen oder finanziellen Gründen aus, bietet sich als Übergangslösung immer noch der Zugriff via Telefon an. - Am Beispiel der StB Chemnitz wird deutlich, daß dieses Konzept keienswegs überholt ist: Denn obwohl man auch in Chemnitz mittelfristig eine WWW-Lösung anstrebt, soll den Nutzern aufgrund der großen Akzeptanz auch zukünftig der OPAC-Zugriff über Telefon möglich sein. Darüber hinaus wurden in Chemnitz die OPAC-Module von Stadtbibliothek und Universitätsbibliothek gekoppelt, eine Recherche ist an den internen OPAC-Plätzen in beiden Richtungen mit demselben Funktionsumfang möglich
