Abstract

This paper addresses a project whose objective is to develop key technologies that will enable information demanders and suppliers to build and maintain network-based information agency capable of retrieving economic information via network services from multiple data bases of several national statistical offices and major economic research institutes. Our approach of an information system is based on the combination of properties from hypertext and term hierarchies. The development leans on the concept of Information Agents - meaning the conveyance of regularly updated and extensive data via public networks for everybody
