Abstract
Im Auftrag der BDB erstellte Broschüre zum Berufsfeld Bibliothek. Geordnet ist der Text zunächst nach den Kernbereichen bibliothekarischer Arbeit 'Vermitteln', 'Erwerben', 'Erschließen', 'Bewahren', ergänzt um 'Gestalten'. Mag dies zunächst langweilig erscheinen, so zeigen schon die Zwischenüberschriften der Teilkapitel der 20 Interviews mit Kolleginnen und Kollegen aus allen Sparten und Ost wie West wie spannend es die Autorin versteht, den Kern bibliothekarischer Arbeit auf den Punkt zu bringen. Noch nie ist journalistisch so locker und doch kenntnisreich über Bibliothekare geschrieben worden. Selbst für die Fachfrau gibt es eine Fülle neuer Aspekte, die einem bisher nicht geläufig waren.
