Abstract
In den letzten Jahren hat Terminologiearbeit in den Bereichen Wissensorganisation bzw. Bibliothek Information Dokumentation (BID)eine gewisse Renaissance erfahren, was sich auch in der Neuauflage einschlägiger Werke äußert. Vor diesem Hintergrund wird hier ein Vergleich solcher aktueller Ansätze von deutschsprachiger Terminologiearbeit geleistet und zu diesem Zweck ein abgrenzbarer Themenkomplex aus drei Publikationen herausgelöst. Genauer gefasst lauten die Fragenstellungen dabei folgendermaßen: - Zu welchen Ergebnissen bzw. Produkten führt Terminologiearbeit? - Welche Unterschiede sind dabei feststellbar? - Auf welche Faktoren können diese Unterschiede zurückgeführt werden? Der Bereich Wissensorganisation - ob im weiteren Sinne verstanden als "Methoden und Systeme zur Organisation von Informationen", als "Objekte und Tätigkeiten der Begriffstheorie, der Klassifikation und Indexierung und der Wissensrepräsentation" (Dahlberg 1994, S.226), ob im engeren Sinn als "descriptions of documents, their contents, features and purposes, and the organization of these descriptions so as to make these documents [...] accessible [...]"2 - Wissensorganisation mit den darin eingesetzten Hilfsmitteln und Instrumenten bedarf als Fachgebiet selbst einer Terminologie, einer "strukturierte[n] Gesamtheit der Begriffe und der diesen zugeordneten Repräsentationen" (Budin 1996, S.16). Diese Fachterminologie ist Gegenstand wie Ergebnis von Terminologiearbeit, indem etwa Termini gesammelt und terminologische Festlegungen getroffen und diese mittels Glossaren oder Fachwörterbüchern zugänglich gemacht werden. Die Betrachtungsweise ist dabei synchron, der Bereich der reinen Deskription wird oft verlassen, es werden präskriptiv Setzungen vorgenommen.
