Abstract

Terminologie spielt bei der Aufzeichnung, Gliederung, Verwaltung oder dem Transfer von Fachinformationen und Fachwissen stets eine wesentliche Rolle, denn Terminologiedaten sind dabei die wichtigsten Informationsträger. Es gibt daher kaum Bereiche in einem Unternehmen oder einer anderen spezialisierten Organisation, in denen Terrninologie nicht verwendet wird. Konsistente Terrninologie ist folglich eine Voraussetzung für professionelle Arbeit, für effiziente Fachkommunikation, für gute Dokumentation und letztlich für ein positives Erscheinungsbild des Unternehmens. Zwar steht Terminologie immer im Vordergrund, wenn es um die Darstellung von Fachwissen auf der Ebene der Begriffe - der Grundelemente des fachwissenbezogenen Denkens, Erkennens, Wissens und Kommunizierens - geht, trotzdem ist nur ein vergleichbar schwach entwickeltes Bewusstsein für Terminologie vorhanden - und dies selbst in Fachkreisen, in denen hauptsächlich Terminologie geschaffen und genutzt wird
