Abstract
Der Physiker Erwin Schrödinger war eines der größten und zugleich bescheidensten Genies des 20. Jahrhunderts. Er empfand Unbehagen, wenn er über sich selbst sprechen sollte, wie etwa bei seiner Antrittsrede vor der Preußischen Akademie der Wissenschaften 1929 oder der Verleihung des Nobelpreises 1933. Doch 1960 beschloß Schrödinger, seine Erinnerungen zu ordnen. Allerdings meinte er, über Krieg und Emigration sei in seiner Generation schon genug geschrieben worden, seine wissenschaftliche Arbeit sei hinlänglich bekannt. So konzentrierte er sich auf Menschen und Ereignisse, die für sein Leben und Denken bestimmend waren. Mit der ihm eigenen klaren, manchmal ironischen Knappheit skizzierte er dies auf dreißig Manuskriptseiten. Zusammen mit seinem weltberühmten philosophischen Testament 'Meine Weltansicht' geben sie einen lebendigen Einblick in die Vorstellungswelt des Denkers und des Menschen Erwin Schrödinger.
