Abstract

Um neue Modelle für die Sicherstellung der überregionalen Informationsversorgung im Bereich von Online-Datenbanken zu erfproben, betreibt die Bayerische Staatsbibliothek im Rahmen eines 2003 gestarteten DFG-Projekts eine Pay-per-Use-Plattform, die Einzelnutzern gegen die Entrichtung eines moderaten Entgelts den Zugriff auf geistes- und sozialwissenschaftliche Fachdatenbanken ermöglichst. Im Anschluss an eine Skizze wichtiger Rahmenbedingungen für die überregionale Bereitstellung von Fachdatenbank-Zugängen wird die technisch-organisatorisches Ausgestaltung der Plattform erläutert. Auf die Vorstellung wichtiger Ergebnisse der mit Datenbank-Anbietern geführten Verhandlungen über Pay-per-Use-Lizenzen folgen schließlich die Beschreibung von Erschließungs- und Informationsmaßnahmen sowie ein Ausblick auf die weitere Projektarbeit
