Abstract

Budget constraints, the geometric rise in available volumes, and the clientele's demand for instant access to all sources constitute h e main issues confronting technical services in the final decade of the twentieth century. Cooperative cataloging not only nationally but also internationally offers the means to address these realities successfully. Such ventures can be achieved if directors of libraries mandate working logether and provide the means to bring these massive efforts to fruition. True cooperation requires difficult team work.
