Abstract

Information dient den Unternehmen und Einrichtungen informationsverarbeitender und -verteilender Branchen als Grundlage ihrer Tätigkeit. Information wird als Dienstleistung und Inhalt verkauft; gleichzeitig bildet der "richtige" Umgang mit der eigenen Information die Basis zur Erbringung dieser Dienstleistungen. Allerdings lassen sich gerade in informationsintensiven Branchen charakteristische Besonderheiten beobachten, die den effizienten Umgang mit Information beeinträchtigen und zu sog. Informationspathologien führen können. Mit Blick auf Informationsdienstleister wie Unternehmensberater und Banken werden organisationsbedingte und psychologische Probleme des Informationsflusses erläutert und in einem Modell eingeordnet.
