Abstract

Die nordischen Länder gehören zu Europa und liegen doch ein wenig abseits. Diese Sonderstellung resultiert aus Geschichte und geographischer Lage, und auch die nordischen Länder selber sehen sich in einen Jahrhunderte alten gesamtnordischen Zusammenhang gestellt. Traditionell ist die Zusammenarbeit unter den Nordländern eng - und auch im Bibliotheks- wie Informationsbereich strebt man nach Kooperation. Eine Intensivierung hat diese durch die neuen Technologien erfahren: Eine gesamtnordische virtuelle Bibliothek und andere gemeinsame Digitalisierungsprojekte sind nur einige Beispiele.
