Abstract
Im November erhielt Professor Wolfgang Wahlster von Bundespräsident Johannes Rau den deutschen Zukunftspreis. Wahlster hatte das Forschungsprojekt Verbmobil geleitet, aus dem ein System zur automatischen Übersetzung spontan gesprochener Sprache hervorging. Was ist eigentlich aus dem ambitionierten Vorhaben geworden? Das Projekt ist im Jahr 2000 ausgelaufen und als Teilsystem im Heinz-Nixdorf-Museum zu sehen
