Funded by the German research foundation DFG, the project DDC Deutsch was conducted at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences from 2002 to 2005. Cooperation partner was the German National Library. The project was devoted to the production of a German version of the 22nd edition of the world’s most widely used library classification system DDC (Dewey Decimal Classification) considering in particular German as well as European subjects and matters in order
to meet the requirements for the application of the DDC in the German-speaking countries.
In the first place, this website contains selected literature references and good-to-know information about the DDC and its founder, Melvil Dewey.
For further information on the project as well as on current applications and products of DDC Deutsch, please visit the DDC Deutsch section on the official website of the German National Library. |
