Abstract

Distance education or distance learning has offered the opportunity to take a degree to students formerly excluded by geographical location or personal circumstances. Support for such students poses a challenge to libraries. Describes the response of the Pierce Library, Eastern Oregon State College in the setting up of the Eastern Oregon Information network which offers dial-in access to CD-ROM databases, interlibrary loans and an electronic mail service
