Reports a visit of Joan Mitchell, Editor of the DDC scheme to the UK in Nov. 1993. Gives a few brief biographical details of Mitchell. Summarizes a paper given by Mitchell on the changes which to the 21st ed. of the DDC which will be published mid-1996. Describes how Dewey is editied and discusses future developments. Examines how Dewey will be continue to be relevant in the future. Discusses the important role of the UK. Outlines questions that were asked following the paper
