Abstract
Grundlage jeder effizienten Informationsversorgung ist die Kenntnis vorhandener und zugänglicher Informationsmöglichkeiten. Bereits daran mangelt es aber in der betrieblichen Praxis: Unüberschaubar ist die Vielzahl der in verschiedenen organisatorischen Einheiten produzierten, angesammelten, verfügbaren und genutzten Informationsressourcen. In der Regel sind weder zentrale Informations-Clearing-Stellen noch sog. Metainformations-Systeme vorhanden, die darüber Auskunft geben könnten, wo welche Informationen in welcher Form erfaßt und auch nachgefragt werden können. Da ist es keineswegs verwunderlich, wenn in vielen Unternehmen das Paradoxon der unzureichenden Nutzung und gleichzeitigen Mehrfachbeschaffung von Informationen zum Berufsalltag gehört
