Abstract
Wo mehr als im Medienarchiv sollten sich heutzutage Gedanken aufdrängen, die der Idee des Lean Management nahekommen? Einerseits spekulieren die Träger und Finanziers darauf, ihre Gelder besser anders auszugeben als für die ständig verstaubenden Inhalte der Regale. Andererseits liebäugeln speziell Dokumentare mit idealen Erleichterungen ihrer teilweise umständlichen und zeitraubenden Arbeit durch den Einsatz der inzwischen allgegenwärtigen Computer. Demgegenüber gibt es Archiv-Fachleute, die vernünftigerweise in der Automatisierung ihrer Arbeit allein werder einen inhaltlichen Vorteil für die Nutzer der Archive noch positive Tendenzen hinsichtlich der Humanisierung der Dokumentationstätigkeit sehen. Ein Konfliktfeld, wie es zugespitzter in der Wirtschaft kaum auftreten kann. Der Autor behauptet, daß auch in der Mediendokumentation 'schlank' gearbeitet werden kann. Wie schlank - das dürfte auch bei seinem Modell einigen Widerspruch hervorrufen, einem Modell, das nach dem Prinzip des Lean Management konstruiert ist
