Abstract

Mit den Empfehlungen des Wissenschaftsrates zur Neuordnung des »Deutschen Verbundsystems« sowie den daraus abgeleiteten Aktivitäten der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) stehen die Verbundsysteme und die wissenschaftlichen Bibliotheken in Deutschland hinsichtlich ihrer zukünftigen IT-Infrastruktur vor einem Paradigmenwechsel. Der Beitrag zeigt zunächst auf, wie sich solche »revolutionären« Veränderungsabsichten im Vergleich der letzten 40 Jahre darstellen. Anschließend werden die angedachten Strukturveränderungen sowohl im Kontext aktueller internationaler Entwicklungen als auch konkret geplanter Projekte in Deutschland betrachtet.
