Abstract

Wie andere Kritiker, so argumentiert André Gorz überzeugend, dass die rezente Ökonomisierung von Wissen mit Ausschließungsmechanismen verbunden ist, die die kulturellen Voraussetzungen für Wissensgenerierung generell aushöhlen. Daher sollte Wissen nicht als Ware, sondern als kulturelles Gut betrachtet werden, das der individuellen Selbstherstellung dient. Allerdings tendiert die kritische Argumentation dazu, eine idealistische und idyllische Vorstellung von Wissen zu konstruieren: Es erscheint als Phänomen mit der Eigenschaft einer ursprünglichen Resistenz gegen ökonomische Verwertung und mit der Kraft, die strukturelle Entfremdung moderner Subjekte zu tilgen.
