Abstract
A short note - in preparing for a deeper investigation - pointing to the interrelation between »Codes, classification and terminology« in the information field at around 1900 and today. When does organized and clearly visible terminology arise first with codes for practical work in librarianship? What kind of spreading of terminology oeuvres into further information areas? With a mention of two internationally important standards - ISO 5127, BS DD 247.
