Abstract
Das Schöne an der digitalen Fotografie ist ja, dass man in kurzer Zeit viele herrliche Bilder auf der Festplatte hat. Damit die Sammelei aber überhaupt einen Sinn bekommt, müssen die Fotos auch alle mit einem erklärenden Text versehen werden - und das kostet dann wirklich Zeit. Dieses Problem wollen Forscher von Hewlett-Packard mit einer Software lösen, die per Spracherkennung die Fotos automatisch beschriftet, wie das Magazin New Scientist berichtet. Die Idee ist eigentlich ganz einfach, wie Margaret Fleck vom HP-Labor in Palo Alto sagt. Während man dem Freund die Bilder auf seinem PC zeigt, erklärt man ja meistens auch, was zu sehen ist. Die Informationen, die in einem solchen Gespräch enthalten sind, könnte ein Spracherkennungsprogramm nutzen, um mit den wichtigsten Stichwörtern automatisch die gerade gezeigten Bilder zu beschriften. Ein Prototyp arbeitet bereits in Flecks Büro. Ihr Ziel ist es, nicht nur in ein Mikrofon gesprochene Worte in Text umzusetzen, sondern auch die ganz normale alltägliche Unterhaltung.
