Abstract
Der Deutsche Bibliothekartag ist seit mehr als einem Jahrhundert die klassische Fortbildungsveranstaltung für alle bibliothekarisch Tätigen in Deutschland. Gleichzeitig ist er aber auch ein Forum, um Thesen und Neuentwicklungen vorzustellen oder auch nur zu proklamieren. Manches erweist sich im Nachhinein als wegweisend, manches als verwegene Absichtsbekundung, der die Realisierung versagt bleiben sollte. In seiner chronologischen Abfolge lässt er die Themen Revue passieren, die in Bibliothekskreisen jeweils aktuell diskutiert wurden. Der Bibliothekartag bietet den Protagonisten, die das ganze Jahr hindurch in der täglichen Praxis oder aber in übergeordneter Gremienarbeit mit den entsprechenden Themen befasst sind, ein Forum, um den Stand der Dinge zusammenzufassen oder die eigene Sichtweise in den Mittelpunkt zu stellen. Die breite Fachöffentlichkeit erhält auf diese Weise die Möglichkeit, die laufenden Diskussionen zumindest etappenweise zu verfolgen. Eine Rückschau auf die Vorträge längst vergangener Bibliothekartage bietet einen schönen Einstieg in bibliotheksgeschichtliche Betrachtungen. In diesem kurzen Beitrag sollen die Diskussionen in der zweiten Hälfte der 1970er Jahre' betrachtet werden, verbunden mit der Frage, welche der damaligen Probleme sich zwischenzeitlich erledigt oder zumindest weiter entwickelt haben, welche aus heutiger Sicht womöglich nur noch kurios anmuten und welche ihren Platz auf den Tagesordnungen bibliothekarischer Gremienarbeit bis auf den heutigen Tag behaupten konnten.
