Discusses the implementation of ISO 9000 standards as a means for improving the quality of library and information services. The application of a quality assurance system in an organization is seen as a closed loop control system which deploys policy and strategy and obtains feedback from various levels in order to improve the efficiency of the services. Reflects on the costs involved and benefits derived in implementing ISO 9000
