Abstract

In der aktuellen wirtschaftspolitischen Debatte ist kaum mehr von den Segnungen der kommenden Informationsgesellschaft die Rede. Hat der Zusammenbruch der New Economy auch gleich die Hoffnung auf neue Märkte und damit Arbeitsplätze zerstört? Wie berechtigt waren und sind die Prognosen eigentlich, die Netzwerkarbeitern und Information Professionals eine glänzende Zukunft versprachen? Bringt die Informationswirtschaft überhaupt mehr Jobs, oder trägt sie nur zum beschleunigten Niedergang der »alten« Wirtschaft bei?
