Abstract

Seit fast einem Jahr beherrscht die Diskussion um die mögliche Ablösung des Regelwerkes RAK die Diskussion in der bibliothekarischen Fachpresse und in den einschlägigen Mailinglisten. Nach vielen - teilweise missverständlichen - Wortmeldungen und Diskussionsbeiträgen stellt sich dabei die Frage nach dem eigentlichen Kern der Diskussion. Diesen aufzugreifen, hatte sich der Regionalverband Südwest des Vereins Deutscher Bibliothekare (VDB) im Rahmen einer Fortbildungsveranstaltung am 10. Juli in der Württembergischen Landesbibliothek Stuttgart vorgenommen. Der Charakter einer Fortbildungsveranstaltung eines Berufsverbandes - frei von dem Zwang zu Entscheidungen - ermöglichte beides: Eine fachliche Einführung in die komplexe Thematik auf hohem Niveau, wofür der VDB-Regionalverband Südwest kompetente und mit den einzelnen Sachfragen bestens vertraute Referenten - ganz überwiegend aus der Südwest-Region - gewinnen konnte wie auch eine sehr engagierte, aber durchweg konstruktive Diskussion. Der relativ kurzfristig ausgesprochenen Einladung waren über 70 Teilnehmer gefolgt, die - trotz der regionalen Ausrichtung der Tagung - z.T. weite Anreisen auf sich genommen hatten.
