Abstract
Computer rechnen weitaus schneller als jeder Mensch. Aber sie scheitern an Aufgaben, die selbst Kindern keine Schwierigkeiten bereiten, wir zum Beispiel das sekundenschnelle Erkennen ihrer Eltern in einer Menschenmenge. Eine stärkere Anlehnung der elektronischen Datenverarbeitung an die Funktionsweise des Gehirns könnte somit zu einer erheblichen Steigerung der Leistungsfähigkeit von Computern beitragen - so hoffen jedenfalls die Wissenschaftler, die sich mit Neuronalen Netzen beschäftigen
