Abstract

The Print-handicapped Libraries Access Network (PLANET) seeks to provide its 6 participating libraries in Victoria, Australia, with access to each other catalogues. By making the catalogues of many alternative format libraries more readily available, it is intended that much better use can be made of the limited stock of titles. The first stage is to link the 6 libraries to the state networked electronic information service, VICNET, and this is nearing completion. The inclusion of the Talking Book Library of the Royal Victoria Institute for the Blind (RVIB Table) will mean that users can select material from it using a wider variety of access points
