    Abstract
    Im September 2013 verkündete Google den schon einen Monat vorher ausgerollten völlig neuen Algorithmus mit dem Namen "Hummingbird". Der Name wurde bewusst gewählt. Schließlich zeichnet den "Kolibri" seine äußerst schnelle und dabei doch präzise Methodik aus. Searchmetrics hat analysiert, wie sich der neue Algorithmus auf die SERPs auswirkt. Ergebnis: Die Diversität der Suchergebnisse hat abgenommen. Google zeigt zunehmend "gleichere" Resultate für semantisch äquivalente Queries an.

    Das Projekt "Aufbau einer Infrastruktur für Information Retrieval-Evaluationen" (AIIRE) bietet eine Softwareinfrastruktur zur Unterstützung von Information Retrieval-Evaluationen (IR-Evaluationen). Die Infrastruktur basiert auf einem Tool-Kit, das bei GESIS im Rahmen des DFG-Projekts IRM entwickelt wurde. Ziel ist es, ein System zu bieten, das zur Forschung und Lehre am Fachbereich Media für IR-Evaluationen genutzt werden kann. This paper describes some aspects of a project called "Aufbau einer Infrastruktur für Information Retrieval-Evaluationen" (AIIRE). Its goal is to build a software-infrastructure which supports the evaluation of information retrieval algorithms.

    100 Jahre später könnte sich diese Dynamik für die Kopfarbeit wiederholen: Computer stehen bereit, auch die geistigen Fähigkeiten des Menschen in den Schatten zu stellen. Seit digitale Maschinen erfunden wurden, sind sie zwar immer schneller geworden. Aber im Kern blieben es tumbe Apparate, die algorithmisierbare Denkfähigkeiten wie das Rechnen nachahmten.     Auf Vorschlag eines Kollegen aus der Anatomie will ich ein paar Gedanken über den Transhumanismus zur Diskussion stellen. Dieser Kollege hatte gerade das neue Buch des israelischen Geschichtsprofessors Yuval Noah Harari gelesen: "Homo Deus: Eine Geschichte von Morgen".
