    Abstract
    Um den steigenden Anforderungen an eine komplexe Informationsversorgung besser gerecht werden zu können, müssen die bisher dominierenden Literaturnachweis- und Fakten-Recherchesysteme zu wissensbasierten Systemen weiterentwickelt werden. Dazu bedarf es detaillierter Analysen der benutzeranforderungen sowie der funktionalen Anforderungen, auf denen die Systemarchitektur beruht. Kernstück des hier vorgestellten Konzepts sind Überlegungen zur einheitlichen Wissensmodellierung in einem System, das integrierte Informationsdienstleistungen aus (und über) teilweise sehr unterschiedlichen buchhistorischen Quellen ermöglicht.     Abstract
    Wissenschaftliche Fachverlage benötigen in einem wandlungs- und wettbewerbsintensiven Marktumfeld effiziente Content Management-Strategien. Tausende von jährlich weltweit neu erscheinenden Fachbüchern und derzeit rund 24.000 nach wissenschaftlichen Kriterien publizierte Zeitschriften mit rund 2,5 Millionen Fachbeiträgen unterstreichen den Bedarf an verlagsweiten Verwaltungslösungen. Online genutzte Manuskriptverwaltungslösungen wie Editorial Manager von Aries sind Teil dieser Content-Management-Strategien. Zunehmend gibt es in diesem Verlagssegment auch Bestrebungen, die Internet-basierte Softwareunterstützung über den nachgelagerten Herstellungs- und Verwertungsprozess auszudehnen.

    Abstract
    Elektronische Medien sind definitionsgemäß Kommunikationsmittel, die auf elektronischem Wege, digital kodiert, übermittelt werden. Bezogen auf die Chemieinformation handelt es sich dabei um chemische Publikationen, Handbücher, Datenreihen, Spektren, Reaktionen, Repositorien für Online-Learning und vieles mehr. Im Rahmen der Vorstellung der neuen Informations- und Wissensplattform "chem.de" während der ACHEMA 2006 hat der Autor den Versuch unternommen, die revolutionäre Entwicklung der Chemieinformation zwischen "gestern und morgen" zu beschreiben. Der Vortragstext ist hier im wesentlichen unbebildert wiedergegeben, die Vortragsfolien sind auf eben dieser "chem. de "-Plattform abzurufen (Forschungsführer/Fels, Gregor/Publikationen).
