Abstract

An exploratory study of information-seeking behavior patterns of university faculty in the context of online searching was conducted to test some generalizations which have been made about researchers in the sciences, social sciences, and humanities. Based on a detailed analysis of 462 university faculty search request forms collected over five years, the study determines similarities and differences among the reoresentatives of academic disciplines in their approaches to seeking information online.
