Abstract

Provides an introduction to this major archive of newspaper cuttings, collected by the British Military Government in Berlin between 1946 and 1981, and now held by the University of Nottingham Library. Gives a bried account of the ESRC-funded project to reclassify and index the material and make it fully accessible to researchers. Describes the sources of material, subjects and periods covered. Lists the main classes of the archive and discusses the design of the index, which was compiled using dBase4. Searching is possible in both English and German
