Abstract
Wenn in größeren Unternehmen Online-Recherchen in externen Datenbanken durchgeführt werden, dann meistens über hausinterne Informationsvermittlungsstellen. Während unserer 10jährigen Berufserfahrung mußten wir jedoch immer wieder feststellen, daß viele größere Firmen überhaupt noch nicht auf externe Datenbanken zurückgreifen. Es ist vor allem die Chemiebranche, die Online-Recherchen regelmäßig durchführt. Die Ingenieurwissenschaften verlassen sich vielfach noch ausschließlich auf die konventionelle Informationsbeschaffung
