CompuServe, der Computer Club und PC-Online-Informationsdienst, vermeldet monatlich 80.000 neue Mitglieder. Die Zahl der weltweit aktiven CompuServe-Teilnehmer hat bereits die Zwei-Millionen-Marge überschritten. Dieses Rekordwachstum ist im wesentlichen auf 5 Faktoren zurückzuführen: Preis-Leistungsverhältnis; Angebotsbreite; internationale Verfügbarkeit; Anwenderfreundlichkeit und Interaktivität.
