Abstract

The State Library of Queensland operates ORAQLE, an in house automated library management system comprising 6 fully integrated modules. Outlines the processes undertaken to incorporate data from the weekly 'MARC Distribution Service: Subject Authorities' on magnetic tape into ORAQLE's existing authority control system. Present an overview of the online authority control system and discusses technical and practical aspects of processing the tapes, advantages and disadvantages
