Abstract

Presents useful advice for librarians, particularly law librarians in public libraries, in answering legal reference questions by library users who plan to be invloved in litigation and represent themselves. The problem stems from the fact these users frequently want more tham just information but also ask for advice and instruction. Of particular relevance for librarians is the need to know how far they can go before they become guilty of unauthorized practice of law
