Describes the planned North Carolina Information Highway a mlutimedia communications network to be put in place by BellSouth Telecommunications. It will be able to transmit text, graphics, televisionlike vide and vice from 1994. Initial applications will be video-based distance learning, medical imaging and diagnostics and management of state government systems. Describes the technology and standards which will be used
