Abstract

Die verbreitete These vom kontinuierlichen Veralten von Fachliteratur wird kritisiert. Es zeigt sich, daß der Zitations- und Veraltungsprozeß von einer Fülle von Faktoren abhängt und entsprechend uneinheitlich verläuft, so daß er sich nicht in einem derart simplen Modell darstellen läßt. Der herkömmlichen Referenzanalyse, die sich als untauglich gerausgestellt hat, werden andere Methoden (qualitative Analyse, Zitationsverlaufsanalyse) gegenübergestellt
