Abstract
Gives a critical review of the new ed. of the Abridged Dewey Decimal Classification, ed. 12. The abridged ed. is widely used in school media centres and in public libraries with small collections. Describes features of the classification scheme that are considered to be particularly helpful for users in these types of library. Advances reasons for the importance of Education Media Services and other users in South Africa to classify media according to the newest edition
