Abstract
Durch Sprache entsteht Wirklichkeit. Und Wirklichkeit bestimmt die Sprache: Ändern sich Lebens- und Kommunikationsformen, wandelt sich auch der Sprachgebrauch. Die Wissenschaft trägt in dieser Dynamik eine hohe Verantwortung. Welche sind die gegenwärtigen Sprachtrends? Was geschieht mit der Wortsprache, versinkt sie in Fluten von E-Mail-Kürzeln, Grafiken und Bildern? Wie kann Wissenschaft allgemein verständlich sein und dennoch den Anspruch der Wissenschaftlichkeit erfüllen? Brauchen wir in der Wissenschaft noch die deutsche Sprache? Wie behält die Sprache ihre Verständigungskraft? Wer ist verantwortlich für den Zustand der Sprache? Mit den AutorInnen - Monika Dannerer, Bernd-Christian Funk, Thomas Krämer-Badoni, Judith Macheiner, Hanspeter Ortner, Uwe Pörksen, WIlly Sanders, Jürgen Schiewe, Wendelin Schmidt-Dengler, Richard Schrodt, Julian Schutting und Marlene Streeruwitz - geht Herausgeberin Maria Nicolini auch den Marotten wissenschaftlicher AutorInnen nach.
