Ein Foto auf Tumblr von der Nutzerin "Swiked" löste die große Farbdebatte auf Twitter aus. Die Tumblr-Nutzerin "swiked" postete ein Foto ihres Kleides und fragte, welche Farben es habe, weil ihre Freunde sich nicht einigen konnten. Die einen sahen es als blaues Kleid mit schwarzer Spitze und die anderen als weißes Kleid mit goldener Spitze. Der Vorgang wird inzwischen international unter dem Aktenzeichen "#dressgate" geführt.
