Abstract

Penrith City Library is engaged in an ambitious inhouse programme to develop and implement a new generation type library system. The jusitification for making this major investment rather than purchasing a system is the major inadequacies in available systems, particularly with the catalogues. The opportunity is to provide a system which looks to present and future needs of both the public and staff, not to past orthodoxies
