Abstract

Das Repertoire International des Sources Musicales (Internationales Quellenlexikon der Musik, kurz RISM) ist ein Projekt, das es sich zum Ziel gesetzt hat, die historischen Quellen zur Musik in zentralen Nachweisinstrumenten unter wissenschaftlichen Kriterien zu erschließen. Der Schwerpunkt liegt heute auf der Katalogisierung der Musikhandschriften, wobei die deutsche Arbeitsgruppe gemeinsam mit einigen Partnerprojekten bereits über 320.000 Titelaufnahmen aus mehr als 300 deutschen Sammlungen erarbeitet hat. Angesichts des absehbaren Endes der Förderung der deutschen Arbeitsgruppe wie auch der in Frankfurt am Main ansässigen internationalen Zentralredaktion ist es dringend geboten, über eine Fortführung dieser für das Bibliothekswesen wichtigen Aufgabe nachzudenken.
