Content: Hamburg, das Tor zur Welt, war in diesem Jahr Gastgeber für den 101. Deutschen Bibliothekartag. "Bibliotheken - Tore zur Welt des Wissens" lautete dementsprechend auch das Motto der Veranstaltung, die von 4730 Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmern vornehmlich aus Deutschland, aber auch aus vielen europäischen Nachbarstaaten sowie den USA besucht wurde. Rund 300 Vortragsveranstaltungen innerhalb von 10 Themenkreisen sowie etliche Arbeits- und Gremiensitzungen wurden vom 22. bis 25. Mai durchgeführt. Im Themenkreis "Neue Netze und Portale" war auch der "Treffpunkt Standardisierung" angesiedelt, den der Standardisierungsausschuss seit dem Jahr 2001, d.h. nunmehr zum elften Mal, angeboten hat und der unverändert sehr gut besucht war. Berndt Dugall, der Vorsitzende des Standardisierungsausschusses, führte durch den Vormittag und rief einleitend den Zuhörerinnen und Zuhörern die Anfänge dieser Veranstaltungsreihe beim Bibliothekartag in Bielefeld ins Gedächtnis.
