Abstract

Die Online-Revolution begann vor rund vierzig Jahren mit dem Vormarsch von Literaturdatenbanken wie MEDLINE, ERIC, BIOSIS, CHEMABS, SCISEARCH unter anderem in den Bibliotheken. Sie revolutionierte schrittweise die Universitäten, die Wissenschaft insgesamt, und mit den Volltext- beziehungsweise Multimediadatenbanken im Internet auch die Schulen und die gesamte Aus-, Fort- und Weiterbildung inklusive Publikationswesen und Blended Learning Damit wurde der Ruf der Bibliothekare nach information literacy beziehungsweise nach allgemeinen Kenntnissen im Bereich der Informationskompetenz immer lauter.
