Content: "Am 18. Mai 2009 wurde das zentrale Wissenschaftsportal für die Bibliotheks-, Buch- und Informationswissenschaften an der Bayerischen Staatsbibliothek neu eröffnet (www.b2i.de). Neuaufbau und Ausbau des Portals, das 2008 von der Niedersächsischen Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek übernommen wurde, werden von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft gefördert. Das bisherige Erscheinungsbild des Portals wurde weitgehend beibehalten, doch unter der Oberfläche birgt die Virtuelle Fachbibliothek zahlreiche technische Neuerungen. So konnte die Metasuche über aktuell 14 qualitätskontrollierte und fachrelevante Datenquellen (Bibliothekskataloge, Bibliografien, Zeitschriftenartikel, Internetressourcen und elektronische Volltexte) unter Einbindung der FAST-Suchmaschinentechnologie realisiert werden, was neben einer erheblichen Beschleunigung der Suche auch die Möglichkeit mit sich bringt, die Suchergebnisse nach bestimmten Kriterien (z.B. nach Erscheinungsjahr oder Thema) weiter zu filtern. Neben der zentralen Suche wurden die bisher gewohnten Services, vor allem die Bestellmöglichkeiten für Monografien-, Zeitschriften- und Aufsatzliteratur, neu aufgebaut. b2i agiert für Interessierte aus Wissenschaft, Studium und Praxis als interdisziplinärer "One-stop-shop" der Fachinformation. Die bisherigen Partner beim Aufbau von b2i, die Niedersächsische Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek Göttingen, das Institut für Buchwissenschaft der Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, das Kompetenznetzwerk für Bibliotheken beim DBV in Berlin, das Informationszentrum für Informationswissenschaft und -praxis der Fachhochschule Potsdam und der Fachbereich Informationswissenschaften der Fachhochschule Potsdam sowie das St. Galler Zentrum für das Buch an der Kantonsbibliothek Vadiana St. Gallen und die Herzog August Bibliothek Wolfenbüttel unterstützten den Neuaufbau des Portals in München. Der Portalausbau mit der Unterstützung neuer Partner ist bereits in Vorbereitung."
