Abstract

Kommunikation ist das letzte große Universalitätsversprechen des modernen Denkens. Durch sie soll ein dauerhafter, freiheitlicher sozialer Verbund entstehen, eine globale Ordnung der Verständigungsmöglichkeiten. Ihre heutigen Strukturen sind geprägt durch neue elektronische Medien und globale Vernetzungen. Wie ist heute Verständigung zu entwerfen? Wie sind intersubjektive und soziale Verbindungen von Dauer herstellbar? Lassen sich überhaupt noch Kommunikationsmodelle denken, die auf eine Sozialität bezogen sind? Das Buch stellt die wichtigsten theoretischen Modelle vor, bezieht sie auf die neuen medientechnologischen Bedingungen und überprüft sie an den empirischen Ergebnissen der Kommunikationsforschung.
