Abstract

Springer Science+Business Media kooperiert ab sofort auch mit dem in den USA ansässigen Anbieter OCLC (Online Computer Library Center). Darüber hinaus bietet der Wissenschaftsverlag eigene bibliografische Datensätze (MARC 21 Records) für E-Books über www.springer.com/MARC, die für Deutsche Bibliotheken über die Bibliotheksverbünde in MAB 2 konvertiert werden.

"MARC 21 ist ein weltweit genutzter Datenstandard für Katalogdaten. Die korrekte Versorgung des Bibliothekskataloges (Opac, Online Public Access Catalog) mit Metainformationen wie zum Beispiel der korrekten URL ist eine wesentliche Voraussetzung dafür, dass der Bibliotheksnutzer unmittelbar aus seiner Katalogrecherche heraus Zugang zu den Inhalten erhält. OCLC-Kunden können über OCLC's WorldCat-Plattfom auf die MARC-Records zugreifen. SpringerLink, Springers Online Plattform unter www.springer-link.com, bietet das weltweit führende E-Book-Programm im Wissenschafts- und Fachbuchsektor. Die 13 englisch- und 5 deutschsprachigen Fachgebietskollektionen umfassen mit jähr-ich ungefähr 4500 Titeln Lehrbücher, Monografien, Nachschlagewerke, Handbücher und Enzyklopädien und sind über eine ständig wachsende Zahl von Wissenschafts- und Fachbibliotheken nutzbar. Informationen zu den Nutzungsbedingungen von OCLC WorldCat sind von den regionalen OCLC-Repräsentanten erhältlich."
