Abstract

Das DFG-Positionspapier zum elektronischen Publizieren vom Frühjahr 2005 (http://www.dfg.de/forschungsfoerderung/wissenschaftliche_infrastruktur/Iis/download/pos_papier_elektron_publizieren 0504.pdf) hat die aktuellen Defizite und Desiderate in diesem Bereich disziplinenübergreifend zu resümieren versucht. Die großen fächerspezifischen Unterschiede im Umgang mit wissenschaftlicher Fachliteratur (ob in gedruckter oder elektronischer Form), die darin aufgeführt worden sind, spiegeln sich auch in der im vergangenen Jahr veröffentlichten DFG-Studie zur Publikation und Rezeption wissenschaftlicher Arbeiten im Open Access (http://www.dfg.de/dfg_im_profil/zahlen_und_fakten/statistisches_ berichtswesen/open_access/download/oa_ber_dt.pdf) wider. Daraus resultiert folgende Schlussfolgerung: Während sich auf einer grundsätzlichen Ebene Wünsche und Vorschläge "allgemeiner Art" zur Beförderung des elektronischen Publizierens formulieren lassen, können erfolgversprechende Strategien gezielt nur unter Berücksichtigung der spezifischen - und eben divergierenden - Fächerbedürfnisse entwickelt werden. Für "Journalorientierte" Fächer, in deren Publikationskultur der "kurze" Artikel eine ebenso zentrale Rolle spielt wie die Aktualität der Veröffentlichung, wird etwa die - für die Geisteswissenschaften relevante - Frage nach der Umsetzung elektronischer Monographien in die zweite Reihe gerückt werden können. Unter dieser Prämisse wollen die folgenden Bemerkungen erstens Thesen zum Ist-Zustand des elektronischen Publizierens formulieren und zweitens modellhaft Möglichkeiten der Integration des elektronischen Publizierens in die fächereigene Publikationspraxis umreißen.
