Abstract

Fachwissenschaftlerinnen arbeiten in der Telekommunikation interdisziplinär aus den Bereichen der Elektro- und Nachrichtentechnik, Mathematik, Physik sowie der Informatik zusammen. Die Community wächst ständig und ist weltweit vertreten. Veröffentlicht wird jedoch vorrangig in der 'Haus'-Disziplin und die Metadaten dementsprechend vergeben. Bei einer Recherche jedoch ist eigentlich die vernetzte, parallele Suche über alle in Frage kommenden (Unter-)Gebiete erforderlich. Da diese sich aber untereinander nicht 1:1 abbilden lassen, wären ausgefeilte Crosskonkordanz-Schemata und Ontologien erforderlich, um adäquate Ergebnisse zu liefern. Für den Bereich bibliothekarischer Klassifikationen ist das Paradigma Telekommunikation von Belang, weil es im Zusammenhang der klassisch strukturierten, thematisch umfassenden Klassifikationen nur einen kleinen, hierarchisch untergeordneten Teilbereich darstellt und dementsprechend meist nur sehr marginal (oft in mehreren Fächern, noch dazu sprachlich wenig normiert) dargestellt ist. Diese Performanz ist deutlich zu optimieren und in ihrer Angemessenheit vor allem für Nutzer zu hinterfragen. Dieses soll im ersten Teil des vorliegenden Artikels untersucht werden. Anschließend werden die Grundlagen für Anwendungen im Semantic Web diskutiert und ein Überblick über bestehende Entwicklungen gegeben.
