USM hat nun unter dem Label PM. ein weiteres auf den Markt gebracht, das auf der 24bändigen Bertelsmann-Lexikon-Substanz basiert. Das ergibt ein Werk mit 150.000 Stichwörtern, 16.000 Medienelementen, darunter finden sich zahlreiche informative Animationen sowie Bilder und auch vertonte Diashows. Ein direkter Zugriff auf die Medien ist nicht möglich, nur im Kontext mit dem gesuchten Begriff werden sie angezeigt. Neben der einfachen Suche stellt die Enzyklopädie noch eine erweiterte Suchfunktion mit UND-, ODER- und NICHT-Verknüpfungen zur Verfügung. Gesucht werden kann in weiteren Kategorien etwa nach Personen oder nach wichtigen geschichtlichen Ereignissen, auf die über eine Timeline zugegriffen werden kann. Integriert ist auch ein Weltatlas mit vierhundert Detail- und Übersichtskarten. Mit über 20.000 Internetlinks und der Möglichkeit eines Updates per Internet bleibt das Lexikon immer auf dem neuesten Stand." - Vgl. auch: www.usm.de
