Abstract

Der Index Theologicus (IxTheo) gehört mit seinem Vorgänger, dem Zeitschrifteninhaltsdienst der Universitätsbibliothek Tübingen (ZID), seit seinem ersten Erscheinen im Jahr 1975 zum Bestand der Bibliothek der PhilosophischTheologischen Hochschule in Benediktbeuern (PTH-Bibliothek) - einer Einrichtung, die für die Literaturbelange von Studenten und Dozenten sowohl der Sozialpädagogik als auch der Theologie zuständig ist. Als Current-Contents war er zunächst in Druckform erschienen. Mittels der wiedergegebenen Inhaltsverzeichnisse von an der UB Tübingen bezogenen theologischen Zeitschriften gab er so einen ersten Überblick über die aktuellen Diskussionen des Faches. Ungeeignet war dagegen dieser Service für die retrospektive Literatursuche, wenngleich jährliche Autoren- und (nach einiger Zeit auch) Personenregister, die später wiederum im Fünfjahresrhythmus zusammengefasst wurden, gewisse Möglichkeiten boten. Tiefere sachliche Einstiege waren jedoch nicht vorgesehen.
